We are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth and new digital edition of Business Diagnostics published by Friesen Press.
Business Diagnostics was born out of a need to quickly and simply summarize business concepts for adult learners in fast-track business courses and a desire to help business owners. From that original concept drawn up over a couple of pints, Business Diagnostics has been used with hundreds of businesses, with now over 35 live MBA cases, and has sold thousands of copies.
As we sat down to reimagine the fourth edition, we were in the middle of a pandemic with no end in sight. While the book has been popular, we sought to provide additional value, introduce new concepts and insights gleaned since the last edition was launched, and make Business Diagnostics available online for all those learners and business owners forced to adapt to a quickly changing world.
The Business Diagnostics Framework has been introduced to our live MBA cases at Royal Roads University, management consulting classes at the University of Victoria and the University of Lethbridge, and, more recently, it has informed Terry Rachwalski’s leading-edge scaleup and growth work at Alberta Innovates.
Given the ever-changing global and national business environment, we have enhanced our Business Diagnostics framework as part of a broader Business Growth Road Map. Accordingly, this fourth edition links the Business Diagnostics Framework to the intersecting elements of business scale-up and growth.
As authors, our most prized moments occur when readers say, “this is the one business text I refer to the most and continue to use.” That was our goal—to create a heavily thumbed, much used and prized desktop business reference guide. Today, our new goal is to extend our reach in
providing a unique and essential online reference that will help businesspeople worldwide.
Whether you are a business student struggling to reference dozens of lengthy textbooks, a management team assessing prospects for scaling-up, or the owner of an existing business needing to size up your growth opportunities, Business Diagnostics provides a simple system through which to evaluate and grow your business.
